your dear narrator (atheist) and his accomplice (jewish fellow) successfully forged the depths of the deepest parts of america without being lynched. despite our parents’ best efforts to terrify us. except for dan’s run-in with an effigy of a Klansman on the door of a gas station bathroom, the odds were in our favor. we beat the souf.
here’s a breakdown of what we learned:
- West Virginia - land of abandoned tractors
- Virginia - land of many caverns
- Tennessee/Alabama - land where it’s really fucking scary to listen to The Microphones at 4am
- Kentucky - land where you end up when I forget to take an exit 100 miles ago
this is old.

hahaha nice. tennessee alabama and kentucky sound like good lands. also, the caption “da souf” made me think “weird, did they take that picture in south korea? i believe it.”
